Six Editorial Board Members Featured in the List of “Highly Cited Researchers 2021” Announced by Clarivate Analytics

On November 16, 2021, Clarivate Analytics announced the list of “Highly Cited Researchers 2021”. Six Editorial Board Members of Soft Science (SS) are on the list. Hereon, all Editors of the SS are extending warm congratulations to these scholars on being selected to the list of “Highly Cited Researchers 2021” by Clarivate Analytics.

The introductions of the six members are as follows:

Zhifeng Ren University of Houston, United States

Professor Zhifeng Ren, the Editor-in-Chief of Soft Science, an M. D. Anderson chair professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Houston, Director of the Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston (TcSUH), fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, fellow of the American Physical Society, and fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. His recent research interests include: high-performance thermoelectric materials, nanomaterials for enhanced oil recovery, high-performance catalysts for water splitting, high thermal conductivity materials and management, novel filters for catching and killing viruses, solar energy conversion, superconductivity, carbon nanotubes and nanocomposites, and flexible transparent electrodes. He has published 673 papers with more than 84,000 citations and an H index of 133.

Zhigang Chen  University of Southern Queensland, Australia

Professor Zhigang Chen, an Editorial Board Member of SS. Professor Chen is a distinguished Professor in Energy Materials at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), one of the youngest professors in the Australian engineering field when he was promoted to be a professor at the 38-years old in 2018. Before Professor Chen moved to USQ in 2016, he had worked at the University of Queensland (UQ) as an ARC Australian Postdoctoral Fellow (2009), QLD Smart Future Fellow (2012), Senior Research Fellow (2016), and Honorary Associate Professor (2016). He is also an Honorary Professor at UQ.

Yu Shrike Zhang  Harvard Medical School, United States

Professor Yu Shrike Zhang, an Editorial Board Member of SS. Dr. Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Associate Bioengineer in the Division of Engineering in Medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Zhang is directing the Laboratory of Engineered Living Systems, focusing on innovating medical engineering technologies. He is an author of >190 peer-reviewed publications (citations >10,500, h-index: 54), and his scientific contributions have been recognized by >40 international, national, and regional awards.

Chunyi Zhi  City University of Hong Kong, China

Professor Chunyi Zhi, an Editorial Board Member of SS. Dr. Chunyi Zhi obtained his Ph.D. in physics from the Institute for Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2004, specializing in the topic of property investigation of BCN nanostructures under the supervision of Professor Enge Wang. He is currently a professor in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering, City University of Hong Kong.

Li-Dong Zhao  Beihang University, China

Professor Li-Dong Zhao, an Editorial Board Member of SS. Dr. Zhao is a professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Beihang University. During 1997-2005, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in metal materials and heat treatment and a master’s degree in materials from Liaoning Technical University (formerly Fuxin Mining Institute). He received his Ph.D. degree in materials science from the University of Science and Technology Beijing in 2009. From 2009 to 2014, he successively engaged in post-doctoral research at Universite Paris-Sud and Northwestern University.

Yiju Li
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, China

Dr. Yiju Li, a Youth Editorial Board Member of SS. He currently has published more than 90 papers in important academic journals such as Matter, Adv. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., ACS Mater. Lett., Energy Environ. Sci., Joule, Nano Today, ACS Nano, Nano Lett., Nano Energy, etc. He is also a guest editor of International SCI journals such as Frontiers in Energy Research, Advances in Polymer Technology, etc.
